I would like to pose the question - Why does Lutron not support or recommend port-forwarding for remote access and remote programming? Lutron states that accessing Ra2 via a VPN is more secure than allowing port-forwarding. I beg to differ. In their App note for remote programming it states that you must first connect to the client's VPN to remotely access the system. This means that I must provide all my programmers with access to my client's network. Should I have a disgruntled employee he/she now has access to my client's network and any shared files within it. All other manufacturer's from security systems to camera DVR's provide simple port forwarding as a means for remote access, no VPN required. Am I missing something?
