Integration protocol to message temp sensor

I'm new to the Radio Ra2 and I would like to know if the main repeater can talk to temperature sensor without the HAVC controller?

What I want is to send command to the temperature sensor from the main repeater to get the temperature of the room.

I looked at the protocol and it seem that there is a command for it but I don't know if I can it just from a main repeater

As far as I ca recreate in my software, you cannot activate or program a HVAC sensor that is not paired with a HVAC controller

Oh really .. So if I buy one without the HVAC, it's useless. Can anyone confirm this ?

Thanks for the reply. I read that and I don't want to control the hvac with the temperature sensor. I just want to send it a command and request the temperature of the room it's in. In the protocol I can see the command. I wish someone has a temperature sensor try out the command from the main repeater and see if it response back
