Since the last time I tried activating devices, I upgraded to Windows 8 and Essentials 6.1. Just tried activating a set of new dimmers, and it's no longer working. When I Start Activation, the software slows to a crawl, a dialog comes up to select the main repeater, and after doing so, a minute or so later, Activation is cancelled.
Any ideas? I haven't reset the main repeater because I'm worried I won't be able to transfer the program to it again.

Were you able to find the Main Repeater prior and save network settings to it without issue?
Also, are you running the program as an admin? I've run into a bunch of issues in classes with people running 8 and just opening the program like normal, not as admin.

Yes, I can find the main repeater and save settings, and get confirmation that settings were saved, although everything seems much slower than before.
I should be an admin in Win8, but I will have to double check that. Dealing with settings in 8 is even worse than before, however impossible that might seem! I'm running Windows under Parallels on the Mac, so I'll have to check all sorts of possible issues.
It would be infinitely easier if Lutron came out with Essentials for Mac! Or just gave the iPad software full programming capabilities.

I'm definitely running as administrator. I even enabled the hidden, elevated Administrator account and tried running it from there, and get the same result; which is:
Click Start Activation. Program says "Starting Activation" with the little "wait" circles After a delay of about 45 seconds, the screen dims, and then the Select Main Repeater dialog appears The Main Repeater is found (I separately checked my networks routing table to verify that the repeater's MAC address showed up at the right IP -- it does), and I click Save Settings. The dialog box disappears, and after another delay, the screen dims again, but then it goes back to the Activation tab, and the status message at the bottom says "Activation Cancelled"
I realize this is not a support forum, just posting this in case it looks familiar to anyone.

Doh! I had networking in Parallels set to Shared Network instead of Bridged Network. Switched it and everything worked fine.
